Presented in the solo exhibition of the same name at (AV17) gallery, the piece reinterprets the historical typology of the recamier through material tension and symbolic contrast.
A single sheepskin is held between two sharply contoured aluminium planes—softness and exposure caught in deliberate opposition. This gesture stages vulnerability as form: the organic matter appears both embraced and pressed, cherished and suspended in quiet threat.
In Trophies – Dressing Room, the dressing room is imagined not merely as a place of appearance, but as a threshold for transformation. The collection traces the edges between body and surface, armor and intimacy. Here, Lesauskas revisits the ethics of material use in design, positioning animal-derived elements not as trophies of domination but as fragments of care, decay, and remembrance.
